The Louisville Housing Authority (LHA) provides housing assistance to families and senior citizens. The LHA has twenty-seven Section 8 Existing Housing Certificates from HUD. The Section 8 program provides rental assistance to very low-income families and senior citizens who live in privately owned rental units. Currently LHA oversees all of the following housing developments:

Lilac Place, 1301 Lincoln Avenue
Lydia Morgan, 1450 Lincoln Avenue
Sunnyside, 401 East Street

Louisville Housing Authority Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor to five-year terms. Regular meetings are held at 8:00 AM on the last Tuesday of every month. Agendas for each meeting are posted in the foyer of City Hall, at the Library, at the Police Department/ Municipal Court Building, at the Recreation Center, and on this site the Thursday prior to each meeting.
